Pembuatan Papan Komposit dari Limbah Plastik (PVC) dan Cangkang Kupang Merah
The need for boards now continues to increase, therefore this research is carried out by utilizing PVC waste and red mussel shell waste as raw material for making composite boards so as to increase the value of PVC waste and red mussel shell waste. The purpose of this study is to determine the effect of filter size and the comparison of the composition of the red mussel shell with PVC against the physical and mechanical properties of the composite board. The making of this composite board is done by mixing the eggshell powder with PVC then the treatment is given by varying the size of the eggshell 20, 30,40,50, and 60 mesh and the ratio of composition between PVC and eggshell is 30%: 70%, 40% : 60%, 50%: 50%, 60%: 40%, 70%: 30% then printed and compressed with a temperature of 120oC using hot press for 60 minutes. So that from the research the best density results obtained at 60 mesh conditions and composition ratio of 30%: 70% where the density or density of 1.234gr / cm3, while for the water content, thickness development, and fracture strength obtained the best results at 60 mesh conditions with a composition ratio 70%: 30% where the percentage of water content is 0.3108%, the percentage of development is 0.138% thick, the value of the fracture strength (modulus of repture) is 1092.57 Kgf.
